Mom’s Meatloaf

There is just something about the meals of your childhood that bring such memories and comfort to a really long day.  “Mom’s Meatloaf” is not gluten, sugar, or dairy free and it’s not fancy, but it is really good!  Just ask my husband, who, to this day, says it is how I won his heart.  I am not about to be able to figure out men,  but I will give you a simple recipe that will please their appetites.  All you need is four ingredients and an hour:

  1. Looks fantastic…. The Drenner’s will be eating good tonight!

  2. Chef Hippie says:

This is my fav Meatloaf… however I find this recipe is even better if you mash up the Beef Alphabet Soup FIRST with a fork, also if you add a little bread crumbs (1/4 cup) and an egg, the meat loaf will hold together better, and WE add a Tablespoon of A1 sauce to both the ketchup and The Meat loaf~ <3

    • David Nemens says:

Yes, I like the idea of mashing up the soup first. I too grew up with meatloaf made with Campbell’s ABC Vegetable Soup. I tried to recreate it a few years ago, The meatloaf fell apart when sliced it. I realized that Campbell’s was using larger vegetable chunks in its soup today than when I was a kid, leading to my crumbly meatloaf. The pre-mashing should take of this. Thanks for the idea!

  3. I’m making this tonight for my 81-yr old dad, who insists this version with ABC soup is the best meatloaf recipe ever (he thinks mine are too fancy – smile). Thanks for the recipe and his trip down memory lane!

    • This is the nicest, sweetest message I have ever gotten! I hope your Dad loved the meatloaf. What I would do to have one more meal with my father. Keep collecting the memories, KC Duff

  4. I’m gone to inform my little brother, that he should also
go to see this weblog on regular basis to take updated from most recent gossip.

  5. Needs bread crumbs and an egg. It’s just goop without it.

  6. My mom uses a similar recipe but adds 1.5 sleeves of ritz crackers and 2 eggs. My dad (who is in his 70s) originally taught her how to make it. It is the best! Just made it myself last night. So good. Meatloaf is one thing I don’t want to be fancy.
