Condy GirlsI have three awesome nieces who are working on launching a blog of their own but in the mean time I gave them my number one tip in being successful at blogging: WRITE.

So while they are in the planning stages of their blog they will be writing and posting here on CEOoftheHouse.


After reviewing Courtney’s post on Healthy College Snacks and right before clicking “publish”, I did find out that Courtney has two favorite foods that didn’t make the list.

  • Cheese Fries from a late night place in Lewisburg, PA called “Hot Diggity Dog”.
  • Reese’s Pieces.

Healthy College Snacks

I’ve found that college can challenge even the healthiest eater because many times students only have a mini room fridge and have limited or no access to a communal kitchen.  I, for one, hardly ever have time to cook my own meals, so instead, I stock my room with healthy snacks and small meal options which allows me to stay full and energized all day long.  Staying full on healthy food prevents binging on large unhealthy meals later and keeps the freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior 15 away!


Stock up on these Healthy Foods

Healthy College Snacks: Greek Yogurt

   Greek yogurt



  • Nuts (raw and unsalted)

Healthy College Snacks-Dried Fruit    Dried mango

*I wouldn’t normally recommend dried fruit as a healthy snack, but I keep dried mango around as an alternative for when   I crave candy and sweets.



Organic Baby Carrots     Baby carrots



  • Natural Peanut Butter

Irish Steel Cut Oats    Oatmeal– steel cut, rolled, or old fashioned

*Nothing that comes in a package, they are often loaded with extra sugars and artificial ingredients.



Whey Protein Shake Mix    Whey protein powder




Healthy College Snacks-Almond Milk    Almond milk



  • Toasted quinoa cereal
  • Non-fat or Low-fat Cottage Cheese
  • Hummus

Sweetener and Spices

  • Stevia   –  An awesome all natural zero calorie sweetener, you can find in health food stores and in a lot of grocery stores.  I always carry a few packets in my backpack for when I buy coffee on campus.
  • Honey
  • Cinnamon
  • Hot Sauce (Sriracha, Tabasco, etc Great way to give a little flavor to bland meals and raise your metabolism!)
