CEOinTraining Begins Her Journey

BlogHer ’12 quickly took a completely unexpected turn with a few conference sponsors interested in meeting our “CEOinTraining”, Emily, after hearing about her desire to run a half marathon. So day one of our “CEOinTraining” happened in the sponsor exhibit halls.

First stop was at the Zamzee booth.  It is here that she picked up a new device called a Zamzee that will track her physical activity plus a whole lot more.  This is not your average, run of the mill pedometer.  The Zamzee is an activity meter designed for children that tracks intensity of activity, not just steps, but also provides kids a secure web environment to track and receive rewards for their activity.  A nightly log-in to her account, allows our CEOinTraining to see how many points she earned for the day, track her progress towards level ups and new badges, personalize her avatar, see what others are doing to stay active and choose to pick other activity challenges to complete.  Devices must be charged before use and an account created on line to activate the Zamzee.

Second stop was the BowFlex booth.  Since a treadmill is high on the Christmas list and key for the half marathon training process, I wanted Emily to check out the Bowflex TreadClimber which appears to be 1/2 treadmill, 1/2 stairclimber.  Do you see the smile on her face?  Is that normal?

Third stop was to meet the Lorax.

Fourth stop was to meet the Sun of Jimmy Dean commercial fame.

Fifth stop was to meet Martha Stewart.  She autographed a journal that is part of the new Martha Stewart Home Office line of products where this little CEOinTraining will be able to document her journey.

Sixth and last stop of the day was at the Hershey’s “S’mores Camp BondFire”.  It was well earned and well deserved.  My father used to say, “if you are going to eat sweets, eat the best.” and we did:)
